About Jaisalmer Fort
Also known as Sonar Quila or the Golden Fort, Jaisalmer Fort is a massive sandcastle rising from the sandy plains of the Thar desert. It is one of the very few 'living forts' in the world, with a quarter of the city's population residing within its walls.
